Price Levels

The introduction of Price Levels is a quick and easy way to simplify the ordering and modification of any menu item that is available in different sizes. The price level of an item is set by the use of a Forced Modifiers at the beginning of the item’s ordering process. Once a price level is set, the additional charge of any subsequent modification will automatically be calculated depending on the modification’s extra or replacement prices, for that same price level. The default price of the item is set to the price of the least expensive size, which by default is Price Level 1. When the available size options are presented, then the selected option will simultaneously set a Price Level and add any applicable price increase. With this feature, no option need be listed with a negative charge, and therefore no accidental credit is given.

Forced Modifiers

When an item is being ordered, additional choices may be required for its preparation. With Presto POS, the server can be forced to respond to one or more lists of choices, which can affect the item’s price, the price level for any subsequent modifications and even where the order is sent for preparation.

Optional Modifiers

According to the client’s request, the server has the ability to modify any aspect of an item (ingredient, cooking time, special instructions, etc.) by simply activating the optional modifier button. Once activated, the server can then select various actions from the Modifier Control window in combination with the available ingredients from the associated Modifiers window. To further simplify your menu definitions, you only need to create an ingredient in the Modifiers window one time, no matter how many price levels are required. This means that you can set the extra and replacement values differently for each price level on the same item.

Rerouting of Orders

Items can be rerouted to different preparation locations depending on either the physical location of the ordering station or depending on the table’s section on the floor. This allows you to support multiple preparation areas for any destination such as multiple Bars and Kitchens, even on multiple floors. This feature enables the server to place an order from any ordering station, independent of the order’s final location. This is essential when using portable tablets as ordering stations.

Advanced Ordering Support

The clarity of orders in the kitchen is essential. Precious time can be wasted if the kitchen staff has to read too much to fill out an order. More text also means more chance for errors. Scenario 1: With Advanced Ordering Support similar items for a single table are first grouped by the item and then consolidated by modifiers. If an item is ordered without any modifications (i.e. follows standard preparation methods), then no additional text will be printed.

Scheduling Menus
